Depotting Revlon and Maybelline eye shadows

 

I finally got around to depotting some of my individual drugstore eyeshadows into this super cute pink barbie tin I found on clearance @ target!

I first tried a method using rubbing alcohol to dissolve the glue holding the eyeshadow pans to the case.

 Peel away the barcode sticker on the back of the eyeshadow

 & there's a tiny hole on the upper left side of the case.

 I then easily broke the cover off the eyeshadow case

 & used a baby booger sucker thingy (cleaned it first of course!) and dropped some rubbing alcohol into the little hole on the back

Let it sit for around 5 minutes to let the alcohol dissolve the glue

 Wedge a razor in between the eyeshadow pan and the packaging

 Tada! freed eyeshadow pan!

 2nd method I tried was using a straightening iron to melt the glue ( strip of wax paper to protect the straightening iron!)

 Place the eyeshadow on the hot curling iron for approximately 1-2 mins (not too long or the packaging itself will melt through)

 It was a lot easier using the straightening iron method vs rubbing alcohol, so I used it for the rest of the shadows.

 Luckily, I found this barbie & Ken tin box frame to make my DIY eyeshadow palette!

 Of course it was on clearance :)

 LOL I don't know what to do with the cards that came with it though haha

 Bought magnetic tape from Michael's for $1

 Tape it to the back of the shadows

 & magnet sticks to the tin frame! yay my first depotting adventure! Its actually really addicting.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro: MIDNIGHT BLUE

So, V-day is usually all about hues of pinks, reds, and purples, but why not MIDNIGHT BLUE?! I actually just bought this color today. It had such a deep dark blue shade with little sparkles only noticeable in the sunlight. I just fell in love! I added Konad Hearts and Silver - glittery dots to finish off the look.

I started off with Nail Tek Maintenance plus just to condition my nails and make sure they don't die on me.

Then, a clear coating of Seche Clear Base coat.

I was surprise to find the Rimmel Nail polish brush on the rather large side. It made the application a little difficult, since I wasn't accustomed to such a large brush!

And that's with only ONE coat! AMAZING!!

I was going to use both the hearts stamps in the middle, but I changed my mind and ended up only using the inner right one.

Here's a close up of my pointer finger. I used a toothpick to put the silver dots on the tips of my nails. The shade is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Celeb City.

CCO and Target Haul

 

Oh how my heart flutters when I see these clearance stickers on make up at my local targets! However, you have to rummage through a bunch of sticky open make up to find these treasures. I don't understand why people have to open up packages and stick their grimy fingers in the product then just leave it there. It annoys me the most when it's something I actually want to buy, but it's ruined because of these people!!! Anyways, I actually found some great items that weren't open and abused, thank goodness.

 I found these two Sonia Kashuk single eye shadows for $2.98! (retail:$5.99) The brown color is Chocolate - 48 and the other is whisper - 21.

 Then, I found a Milani lip liner in Most Natural for $1.98 and a wet and wild brow pencil for $0.67!

 

I am fortunate enough to live 15 min away from The Premium Outlet Mall, and of course, I frequent the CCO (Cosmetic Company Outlet) Which basically has MAC, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, etc. for a discounted price! I picked up a MAC paint pot and a Lip liner the other day!

HAUL: Claires Makeup

Like many people, I was quick to stereotype Claire's as a utopia for young teenage girls looking to find cute little accessories to flaunt around. However, what I was unaware of was a hidden treasure trove of eyeshadow palettes among a midst of horrible, childish, and unwearable colored palettes littering the shelves. The key to finding these gems is to avoid the card board magnetized packaged make up palettes marketed towards teeny boppers. Although the appearance may be tempting and adorable... STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS! Unless.. you're trying to find a suitable birthday present for teens new to makeup, they might just be perfect!

Moving on to my amazing find today, any one who knows me will tell you that I am the most frugal shopper and will wait however long it takes for products to go on sale unless it's something I really... REALLY want. Usually I even pass on things I really want just because I couldn't possibly justify spending $$$$ on something I probably don't really need lol. So at Claire's, I made my way to the back of the store where there are sale racks filled with various items. This pink rectangular compact with black lacy floral print caught my eye.

How adorable is the packaging!? It is far from the GLEE inspired Rachel Berry pack they had...
AND the best thing about it, is that it was on sale for only $2.75 whaaaa CRAZY!
Once opened, I found these gorgeous quads with mirrors on the inside cover.

I must admit, w/o primer these shadows lack in pigment points, however, WITH primer they're amazing! The colors just pop out and are very suitable for many looks.

So how well did these quads fare?!

Packaging: A- (I love the colors, but they're a little difficult to open if you have nails)

Price: A+++ (these were a great find in the clearance section!)

Quality: B+ (Primer needed)

Overall: A -

Baby Pink Valentines Day Nails with Konads + Fimo Nail art

These nails are just perfect for Valentines day coming up! Before applying the nail polish, I sliced up two adorable heart pieces to accent my ring finger nails!


Here's my stash of fimo nail art rods! they're too cute!


I started off with Nail Trek Maintenance + to keep my nails strong and healthy!
A layer of seche clear to make a smooth base for my pink polish.
I applied two coats of Revlon "Sweet tart" to my nails, which is a coincident since it's my baybe's fav candy of all time lol
My Konads set up
I used Konads plate m73 (floral print to the right)
After applying the konads nail art stamp and my two heart slices to my ring finger nails, I put a thick coat of Seche Vite Top coat to prevent my nails from chipping and keep my heart slices in place!
